1 DAY SAFARI TO LAKE MANYARA OR TARANGIRE
ITINERARY DESCRIPTION
1st Option – 1 Day Safari to Lake Manyara
After breakfast, 8:30am, with lunch boxes you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, whose lake Ernest Hemingway claimed was “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”there will be some picnic sites where we will sit for our lunch, The park offers a compact game viewing circuit and is one of the most diverse reserves in the country. The lake itself covers two-thirds of the park and the Great Rift Valley provides a stunning backdrop,Explore Lake Manyara National Park one of Tanzania’s finest gems, stretching more than 30 miles (50 km) along the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. Explore this natural beauty, a great spot for bird watching and home to a large diversity of wildlife, with the help of your expert guide. The park lies 1.5 hours (126 km’s/ 80 miles) west of Arusha, Tanzania along a surfaced road and close to the ethnically diverse market town of Mto wa Mbu. Lake Manyara National Park is unspoiled paradise with ground water forest, laced with underground springs and teeming with wildlife such as elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, the largest baboon troops in Africa and some of the antelopes. Lake Manyara is a salt lake with thousands of flamingos. It is full of outstanding birding places with more than 400 species on display and butterflies. You can also see pelicans, storks, kingfishers and many other birds. It is also a famous jungle, where early Tanzanian movies were filmed.Late evening we drive back to your hotel for your accommodation.

2nd Option – 1 Day Safari to Tarangire National Park
Early morning 6:30, with your lunch boxes, your driver guide will meet you ready to for safari which lies 120 km south of Arusha Tarangire National Park is famous for Baobab trees and elephants! It is very popular for day trips from the town. Tarangire offers a wide variety of wildlife in its area of 2,800 sq km. As in all ecosystems, the vegetation and the types of animals you find are closely correlated. The principal features of the park are the flood plains and the grassland, mainly comprising of various types of acacia trees, and a few scattered baobabs, tamarind and the sausage trees. The Tarangire River, after which the park is named, provides the only permanent water for wildlife in the area. When the Maasai Steppes dry up with the end of the long rains in June, migratory animals return to the Tarangire River. This period stretches between August and November and it is the best season for game viewing in Tarangire.
The most common animals found in the park include zebras, wildebeest, lions, leopards, waterbucks, giraffe, elephants, gazelles, impala, gerenuk, lesser kudu and the beautiful fringe-eared oryx. You may be lucky to spot the tree-climbing python for which the park is famous, or the kudu and the roan antelope which are rare species in Northern Tanzania. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded in the Park. We will break for lunchat the picnic site then we continuou with game watching till evening were we drives out to your hotel in Arusha
