Itinerary Highlights
This itinerary will take us to four of Tanzania’s most popular destinations: Tarangire National Park (1 night), Ndutu (2 nights), Central Serengeti (1 night), and Ngorongoro Crater. The trip starts and ends in Arusha. Our skilled driver guides will make your trip unforgettable! Migration will most likely occur in the Ndutu region between the last week of December and the beginning of March. As a result, this excursion is only recommended from the last week of December to the end of March.
ITINERARY DESCRIPTION BY DAY
Day 1 :Arusha to Tarangire.
Pick up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.
Day 2 :Transfer to Ndutu (South Serengeti).
Your safari will begin by 8AM in the morning with a pick up from your hotel in Karatu and head towards the Ndutu region. A few minutes commencing the drive, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) where you will notice the landscape changing from hilly forests to plain and green grasslands. Once you reach Ndutu you will begin a half day game drive with a convenient stop for your picnic lunch. Sweeping grasslands cover the region which gradually fade into the Serengeti. Ndutu forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nursery for the great migration. This season attracts hordes of predators prying on vulnerable young wildebeest.
After game viewing, you will now head towards your choice of accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits you.
Day 3 :Full game drive in Ndutu.
Stunned by the previous day’s spotting of the migration, today you get another chance to view the beautiful wildlife spectacle. The Ndutu region is a part of the glorious Serengeti National Park as well as the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Today you will be following the migration depending on its location. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nursery for the great migration. This season attracts hordes of predators preying on vulnerable young wildebeest.
The action-packed game drive will end late in the evening by around 5PM. You will now head towards your choice of accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits you. Ensure you get some good rest and recharge yourself for another eventful day.
Day 4 :Ndutu to central Serengeti.
With lunch box from your hotel we do en route game drive towards serengeti where we wil have our lunch in one of picnic site, then we continue to explore the serengeti landscape, kopjes and variety of wild animals include cheetah, leopard, hyena, elephants, zebras, buffalos, giraffe, antelopes, voltures, secretary bird, Cori bustard and so on. We will continue with game drive till dusk where will head to place of our accommodation.
Day 5 :Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater.
After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area with picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, shelters some 30,000 animals. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.
Day 6 :Lake Manyara National Park.
With lunch box from your hotel we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park after necessary registration we start game drive. The park is famous for black and white colobus monkey, blue monkey, velvet monkey, olive baboon, herds of elephants, tree climbing lions, buffalos, zebras, wildebeest, enland, hippos and since the three quarter of the park is lake, we will see dozens of water birds species. Lunch will be taken in one of the picnic site in the park, then in the late afternoon we will drive back to Arusha.
