SUMMIT PLANET EXPEDITIONS KILIMANJARO TREKKING
Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking
Mount Kilimanjaro can be climbed via several routes. Each route is unique, and choosing the best route is a personal choice. We like to recommend the Lemosho route, as it has great scenery and spans all five of Kilimanjaro’s climate zones, and allows clients to gradually acclimatize to the high altitude as they ascend the mountain. Note that some routes have the option of completing in less days by skipping camps. However, extra time acclimatizing to the altitude can greatly increase your chances of success in reaching the top.
We strongly recommend booking the plus package. This package includes bringing a private portable toilet (requires an extra porter), which is customary among Kilimanjaro trekking groups, as the public campsite bathrooms can become quite dirty. The package also includes better hotel accommodations before and after the trek, more amenities during the trek, and enough porters to trek beyond just the ultra-light essentials.
Many of our Kilimanjaro climbers like to reserve a safari trip at the end of their climb, and we offer discounts if you book them together.
