Wildebeest Calving Migration Ndutu For 8 Days

ITINERARY DESCRIPTION BY DAY

Day 1 : Arrive In Tanzania.

picks you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). You will then be taken to Masailand Safari Lodge, which is ideally situated on coffee fields and the ideal place to rest up for your 8-day Wildebeest Calving Migration Ndutu (December to April) excursion.

We’ll congregate in the hotel for a pre-safari briefing.

Day 2 : Tarangire National Park.

After breakfast, our 8-day Wildebeest Calving Migration Ndutu (December to April) tour begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, which offers excellent game viewing opportunities. Tarangire is a tiny park with some wonderful scenery. Tarangire generally comes alive during the dry seasons as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River, which is a permanent source of water. We spend the night in our lodge, which is beautifully situated within the park and has stunning views and a distinct atmosphere. We travel from the park to our special tented camp in the late afternoon.

Day 3 : Tarangire – Ndutu Plains/South Serengeti

Breakfast at the camp this morning, and then we’re off to Ndutu Plains for the Southern Serengeti migration safari. Before entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we will make a brief stop at the Loduare Main Gate, followed by another brief stop to take pictures and enjoy the stunning views of the Ngorongoro Crater floor. We’ll then continue on to the Lake Ndutu area, where the action takes place from December to March. After the picnic, the afternoon will be spent on game drives until it is time to check in at the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at the Serengeti Savannah Ndutu Camp or the Ndutu Safari Lodge. Every meal is included.

Day 4 : Ndutu Plains Calving Safari

After breakfast, the group will visit the Ndutu plains in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From January to March, the Ndutu plains are the epicenter of the wildebeest migration, which gives birth to thousands of young calves every day. At Ndutu Plains, with its green pastures and rich mineral soils that the herds adore, you can expect to see thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles spread across vast areas, as well as the rare opportunity to witness some real wildlife action as predators engage the herds and try to snare their loved newly born foals. A walking safari with an armed range is also an optional activity at Ndutu, which you can arrange with your diver. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you will see animals up close while listening to lectures from trained naturalists and rangers. Ndutu is also a fantastic place for bird watchers, with 400 resident and migratory bird species recorded.

Day 5 : Serengeti National Park

Having traveled this far, it is worthwhile to visit the Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, we check out and drive a short distance to the Naabi Hill Gate, where you will register and enter the Serengeti National Park for a day of game drives in the central areas such as Seronera Valley and the Moru Kopjes. You will check into the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight later in the afternoon.

Day 6 : Ngorongoro Crater Tour

We begin the day with an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, followed by a visit to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Finally, we descend the 600-foot Ngorongoro Crater walls to the crater floor for a full day of game drives. There are plenty of animals to see because the crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for them: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards (if you are lucky). The only animal you won’t see here is a giraffe, whose long legs can’t handle the crater’s steep sides. We return to our hotel in Karatu in the late afternoon.

Day 7 : Maasai Tour

On your way to Arusha today, you’ll learn about the Maasai culture and traditions. Your local guide will show you a Maasai Boma and explain how Maasai live; after a brief visit to the Maasai boma, we will return to Arusha.

Day 8 : Arusha – Departure
