Kilimanjaro Day Trek Marangu Route

06:30 AM – Pick-up and Transfer to Marangu Gate
Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. You will be driven to Marangu Gate (1,860m), where you will register with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities and meet your guide.

08:30 AM – Start of the Trek
After registration and a short briefing, you will begin your trek through the lush rainforest. The well-maintained trail is rich with wildlife, towering trees, and vibrant flora. Keep an eye out for colobus monkeys and various bird species.

11:30 AM – Arrival at Mandara Hut (2,720m)
After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you will reach Mandara Hut. Here, you can rest, have some snacks, and explore the nearby Maundi Crater, which offers stunning views of Kenya’s Amboseli National Park on a clear day.

12:30 PM – Descent Back to Marangu Gate
After enjoying the scenic beauty and taking memorable photos, you will begin your descent back through the rainforest.

03:00 PM – Arrival at Marangu Gate and Certificate Collection
Upon reaching Marangu Gate, you will receive a trekking certificate and have the opportunity to relax before being driven back to your hotel.

05:00 PM – Drop-off at Your Hotel
You will be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha, concluding your amazing one-day Kilimanjaro trekking experience.

  • Visa Fees: Tourist visa for entry to Tanzania (if applicable)
  • Tips for Guides & Porters: Recommended tipping is $200-$250 per climber for the entire team
  • Extra Accommodation: Hotel nights before or after the climb (can be arranged separately)
  • Personal Expenses: souvenirs, extra snacks, bottled drinks, and other personal items
  • Drinks: soft drinks, alcohol, and other beverages not included in meals
  • Medical Care: Any medical services required during or after the trek
  • Emergency Evacuation: In case of early descent or emergencies (usually covered by insurance),
  • Optional Extra Activities: Such as a trip to a hot spring or safari (available upon request)
  • Laundry Services: Laundry at huts or hotels
  • Hotel or Transport Extensions: Additional nights before or after the trek
