John arranged a stellar team to get us safely to the top and had unwavering confidence in our ability to achieve this. He arranged porters, tents, guides, food and everything necessary. And, he cares about the details (safe drinking water, cleanliness, comfortable sleeping arrangements and healthy, delicious food). His team was friendly, energetic and genuine. Based on what we saw from other tours, we feel fortunate that we had the best in the business.

Unforgettable safari experience with exceptional guides If you're thinking about going on a safari in Tanzania with Summit Planet Expeditions, just do it. Seriously, I can't recommend it enough, especially with Godson as your guide. We did a 3-day safari, and it was hands down one of the best experiences ever.From the moment we landed, everything was taken care of – airport transfer, accommodations, the whole shebang. We kicked things off at Tarangire National Park, then hit up the Ngorongoro Crater, and wrapped up at Lake Manyara. Each spot had its own magic, and Godson made sure we didn't miss a thing.Speaking of Godson, he's the real deal. As a local, he's got this deep knowledge of the parks and the animals, which was a big plus compared to other tour operators. We got super lucky and saw the Big 5 plus a ton of other wildlife. Every time we had a question, Godson had an answer, usually sprinkled with some local culture and stories. Plus, he's just a really friendly guy – always smiling, always ready to help out.On our last day, we met John, Godson's partner, when he joined us for the ride back to the airport. John was just as awesome and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed.Honestly, the whole trip was worth every penny. If you're on the fence about it, just go for it. The experience, the animals, the people – it’s something you'll remember forever. I totally recommend it!

Kudus to the naturalist/guide Godson was one of the best naturalist/guides I’ve ever had lead a trip like this. We wanted to see as many birds and animals as we could in a 7 day trip and Godson did his utmost to find them. Not only did he know where various animals generally lived, but he educated us on details about each one. He is naturally curious and incredibly knowledgeable about almost all aspects of the Serengeti having lived his entire life here. He is also a Maasai tribal member so he could explain much about their lives and lifestyle. I’d gladly take another trip with him!

Amazing 3 day safari Had an amazing 3 day safari with Godson. He is a brilliant man! Very friendly, funny and knowledgable. He made a lot of effort for me to see as many animals as possible. He was always on time for picking me up in the mornings and always making sure I was happy with my experience. Could not fault him one bit.If you are thinking about going on a safari he is your man. Great safari experience We had a great safari experience! Godson, the driver, was very experienced and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great time. Although it was a short trip, we were able to see the big 5 and many other animals. The only one missing in our list is the cheetah, but re promised us that next time he will find one for us

Superb leadership and guiding that resulted in a fabulous summit of Killi! My friend and I had an amazing trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in the safe hands of John Maeda and his crew. He was organised, structured, and kind but firm with all the crew, (and us trekkers!) . His knowledge is second to none, and he was personally responsible for getting me to the top and ‘summiting’ when I was struggling.A true leader of people, John’s standards are high both in terms of ensuring the safety of his treks, and in his expectations of his crew. From the equipment checks, to the informative joviality with which he talks about Kilimanjaro as his ‘office’, and the quiet unassuming way he gets his team involved and organised nothing is left unconsidered. Family Summit John was amazing with my whole family for 8 days on Kili- we got all 4 of us up there including my 10 year old. He was very patient, thorough and kind. 100% recommend!

One of life’s greatest experiences- climbing Kilimanjaro We climbed Kili in a group of 11 people with John Maeda as the leader. It was tough for someone in their 60s like me but wonderful. Summiting at dawn is an experience never to be forgotten. The organization was faultless and John’s leadership truly remarkable with everyone involved in the climb, the guests, the guides, the porters, cooks etc. if climbing Kili is your thing you can’t do better than having John Maeda organise it. Can’t recommend him highly enough. We wish his business every success he deserves it.
