This 5-day Tanzania midrange safari is a classic Northern Circuit adventure designed for travelers seeking rich wildlife encounters, comfortable lodge accommodation, and breathtaking landscapes. The journey takes you through Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant herds and baobab trees; the endless plains of the Serengeti, home to the Great Migration and abundant predators; the wildlife-packed Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and the scenic Lake Manyara National Park, known for tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. With expert guides, well-selected lodges, and full-board meals, this safari promises an unforgettable African wildlife experience.
Itinerary
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. Tarangire is Tanzania’s third-largest national park and is well known for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds concentrated around the Tarangire River.
During your game drive, you may spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, eland, oryx, and many antelope species. After the safari, drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying wildlife sightings along the way. Arrive in Serengeti in the late afternoon and proceed with a game drive until sunset.
The Serengeti is world-famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration and offers exceptional game viewing year-round, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and gazelles. Dinner and overnight at your camp in central Serengeti.
Wake up early for a morning game drive to witness the spectacular Serengeti sunrise and active wildlife. Continue game viewing until midday, with chances to see the Big Five, predators, birds, hippos, crocodiles, kopjes, and vast plains filled with herbivores.
Return to camp for lunch, then head out again for an afternoon game drive before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart Serengeti with packed lunch boxes and enjoy an en-route game drive toward Ngorongoro. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for up to 5 hours of game viewing.
The crater hosts an incredible density of wildlife including black rhinos, lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and flamingos. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before ascending and driving to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart with lunch boxes to Lake Manyara National Park. Following registration, begin your game drive through lush groundwater forests and lakeside habitats.
The park is known for black-and-white colobus monkeys, baboons, elephants, hippos, buffalo, tree-climbing lions, and a wide variety of water birds. After lunch at a picnic site, continue game drives before returning to Arusha in the late afternoon.
