Tour Overview

This 2-day Tarangire and Lake Manyara safari is a short trip to two parks on the road west of Arusha. Day one is Tarangire, known for its large elephant herds and old baobab trees, with the night at a public campsite.

Day two is Lake Manyara National Park, where groundwater forest runs down to a soda lake. Look for flamingos, hippos and the park’s tree-climbing lions before you return to Arusha. Children are welcome from age 5.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

    Day 1 Trip to Tarangire National Park
    Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport by a professional guide. You’ll drive to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch boxes—a journey of approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, start with mid-morning game drives as you explore the beauty of Tarangire.

    Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing with afternoon game viewing until around 16:00 hrs. Later, drive to your accommodation in Mto wa Mbu for relaxation.
    Tarangire is renowned for hosting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Tanzania. Expect to see large herds of zebras, wildebeests, elephants, elands, gazelles, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, and occasionally predators like leopards. Overnight in Mto wa Mbu.

    Day 2 Lake Manyara National Park
    Start your day with a 07:30 AM pickup from your hotel with packed lunch. A short 10-minute drive brings you to Lake Manyara National Park. After check-in and park formalities, begin your full-day game drive.
    Manyara offers stunning wildlife diversity, from pink flamingos and elephants to hippos, giraffes, baboons, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a lunch break inside the park before continuing with game drives through its varied ecosystems.
    By 4:00 PM, begin the drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your unforgettable safari experience.
